...we created a type family that consists of 6 different styles, a Serif and a Sans counterpart with matching italics. Together the fonts create a compact but versatile palette that serves all the typographic needs of the magazine, from impressive headlines to longer articles.
Kinfolk magazine is known for using signature muted photography and natural imagery for its cover design. This embodies the magazine's slow-living philosophy and aesthetic restraint, and help them distinct themselves visually from many other magazines from the news stand.
Since its founding in July 2011 by two couples: Nathan Williams and Katie Searle-Williams, and Doug and Paige Bischoff; Kinfolk has become an authority in lifestyle content with a mix of print and online media. The magazine covers slow lifestyle topics including home design, food culture and mindful living practices. It publishes quarterly with four issues released throughout the year.
